We’ve been talking about this for years and years, and it’s not just because we work with the latest mobile technology – it’s because it has so many applications. Flying cars and toasters with voice assistants are still some way off, but 2020 promises to be the year that 5G is implemented. Companies like Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei and LG have already started to bring out mobiles capable of taking advantage of this network capacity… But while we’re waiting to have it in our pockets, we’d like to explain exactly what it is and what it involves.
The 5G network is the result of the evolution of the current 4G; it’s the fifth generation of the wireless and communication technology that we use in our mobile devices to send messages, photos, videos, surf the internet and make calls. It’s nothing new, but it does represent an evolution in mobile telephony.
In short, 5G will connect us all with each other and to everything, all day long and with the greatest possible speed. Are you ready?

Reference is made to the stock exchange announcement from LINK Mobility Group ASA (“LINK” or the “Company”) on 19thof January 2017 regarding the signing of a term sheet for the acquisition of Spanish GLOBAL MESSAGING SOLUTIONS (“GMS). LINK Mobility has a solid position in the Spanish market for mobile messaging services, and is particularly strong on mobile marketing and mobile multi-channel solutions.
LINK Mobility has today completed the acquisition of all issued and outstanding shares in GMS. The acquisition was completed at a revised purchase price of EUR 14.033 million paid in cash.
LINK has a solid cash position due to strong cash flow from its operations and the successful private placement of NOK 125 million completed in late 2016. The cash part of the transaction will thus be fully financed through LINK’s corporate funds.
LINK will through the planned acquisitions of LINK Mobility and the Spanish company Didimo announced 13 January 2017, become the leading provider of mobile messaging and mobile solutions in the Spanish market.
In relation to the acquisition of LINK Mobility, Arild E. Hustad, CEO of LINK, has the following comment; “I am really happy to announce that we have now acquired LINK Mobility in Spain. We are seeing a strong growth in the Spanish market going forward within mobile messaging and mobile solutions. As the number one player in the Spanish Market with around 40% market share we are now well positioned to continue to grow our Spanish operations and take advantage of the growing demand in the market for our services”.

We are at the forefront. Friendly and futuristic: that’s how the brand new platform developed by our IT department could be described. Although the previous version worked perfectly and provided our clients with a timely service, we have invested in an update that is giving excellent results from the word go. We present a completely new, more modern, visual and intuitive interface, that includes diverse tools for managing campaigns, meeting the needs of every user.
Now our multichannel platform, which gathers together all our services (SMS, SMS Site and of course Email) allows every detail of the campaigns to be customised and consulted, so that our clients themselves can control the whole process, from start to finish. All this with an ease of use that facilitates every step.
Why wait any longer to explore it and start working with it now.
More than 700 retailers, 100 speakers (19 of them CEOs and general managers of important companies), 48 sponsors, inspiration, far-sightedness, sensory experiences… These are just a few of the brushstrokes of 4th Retail Forum held in Madrid on 9 February, at which LINK Mobility took part as a silver sponsor, as we had previously announced.
There is no doubt that it was an interesting day for the LINK Mobility marketing team, which took part with a small stand, so as not to lose sight of everything that is “cooking” in the retail sector. Aside from attending everyone who approached our stand taking an interest in our services, this event allowed us to establish some interesting contacts and go with a lot of interest to the different plenary sessions, chats, labs and networking moments made available for all those attending.
It is always a pleasure to evolve and learn from the great marketing gurus.
The learning offered by real people was truly interesting, but we were also struck by the technology on show. The companies involved in this sector took centre stage by offering some really amazing professional solutions, like facial recognition systems, direct digital printing, smart shop heat maps, virtual shop windows, digital fitting rooms… On a more playful note, you would suddenly bump into a friendly robot wandering around, see toys of the future and go through some interesting experiences thanks to some virtual reality glasses.
There is no doubt that it was a fruitful event which LINK Mobility would not have liked to miss. And now, on to the next one, the Mobile World Congress! We will, of course, tell you all about it.
It was an excellent year for LINK Mobility: after meeting to highlight the achievements made and set more challenges and objectives for the coming year, we can be proud of a highly satisfactory end result: we grew by 30%, meeting the different needs of our customers and improving on a daily basis. This is something to celebrate!
So, like previous years, everyone who is part of this big family at LINK Mobility organised our company’s Christmas event: a wonderful chance to get out of the office, forget about our work worries and share a fun and pleasant day together. A few hours to say goodbye to the stress of daily work, when there’s only time for fun.
The day began with a visit to the Carlos Sainz karting centre, an indoor track where 270 cc race cars speed along to give you a real adrenaline rush. Divided into teams of boys and girls to compete, we squeezed into the race suits and whizzed around like real race drivers! All around the track, lap after lap and bend after bend, there was lots of excitement and fun, always with a bit of healthy rivalry. Who were the champions? From the boys, David “Senna”, from the technical department; and from the girls, Maida “Alonso”, from the finance department.
And of course, after expending all of that energy, it was time to get our strength back. We went to Restaurante Paquita, where we enjoyed countless gastronomic delights. There, among the mouth-watering delicacies, toasts full of good wishes and even the occasional burst into song and dance, we enjoyed a good chat and lots of laughter.
After this successful event, we are beginning 2017 full of energy and with the same desire to work with the utmost professionalism, adapting each solution to the needs of our customers.
There are 365 days ahead to continue progressing in the world of digital communications!
LINK Mobility wishes you Merry Christmas and Prosperous 2017
This year we have once again participated in the Wholesale World Congress, an exceptional gathering of the international telecommunications community, which was held in Madrid on the 14th and 15th of September.
We networked with internet providers, wireless carriers, mobile telephone companies and voice technology companies, and many other technological partners, and the final result was extremely positive.
This year, we weren’t just happy to come to this major event as spectators; we were more active than ever, attending as an exhibitor company with our own stand.
This enabled us to hold productive meetings, share knowledge, attend conferences, learn about services and products, generate new contacts and discover innovative strategies to continue developing.
Thanks to the organisation and everyone who expressed an interest in LINK Mobility’s products and services, see you next time!
Summer has finished and we have to go back to work. Everyone back at our desks with our batteries recharged!
Use the start of the new marketing year to take stock, rethink strategies and work out how to carry on improving.
All hands on deck!
